Systemax Introduces Four New Laptops

Systemax added four notebook models earlier this month featuring the Intel Santa Rosa chipset, which has embedded 802.11n Wi-Fi capability.

The Intel Santa Rosa chipset boosts networking range and offers Turbo Memory. This feature is used by Microsoft’s Vista operating system to improve the unit’s start up time and overall performance by increasing the capability of the existing RAM, the company said.

The new units are the Medallion XV, Medallion XVII, Pursuit 4165 and Pursuit 4250.

The two Medallion models are consumer-oriented and carry prices between $879 and $1,350 depending upon configuration. The XV is centered on a 15.4-inch display and comes standard with a 1.3-megapixel camera, NVIDIA GeForce 512MB graphics card, Bluetooth and built-in speakers and subwoofer. Specifications for the basic XV are Intel Core2 Duo T5250 1.5GHz processor Microsoft Windows XP Home or Vista, GB of memory, 60GB hard drive and DVD-RW drive

The XVII differs in having a 17-inch display Intel Core2 Duo T7500 2.2GHz Microsoft Windows XP Home or Vista, 1GB of memory, 120GB hard drive and a DVD-RW drive.

The unit’s specifications can be altered to fit the consumer’s needs during the configuration process.

The Pursuit line is for the business user. The 4165 Intel has a Celeron 530 1.73GHz processor, XP Home or Vista, 512MB of memory, 60GB hard drive, a combo optical drive and a15.4W-inch display. Starting price is $679.

The 4250 has a slightly more powerful processor and adds a Web cam and fingerprint security function. Its base price is $879.
