Sprint will acquire 33 percent of Tidal, the streaming-music service founded by Jay Z, the carrier announced on Monday.
Tidal will continue to be run by Jay Z and its other owners, according to Sprint, while Sprint CEO Marcelo Claure will join Tidal’s board of directors.
Sprint’s 45 million customers will be privy to exclusive content created by Tidal artists, said the carrier.
Tidal announced at CES that it would begin offering high-res music streaming, although not to smartphones just yet.
