Sears Sells Parts For Kenmore Appliances

HOFFMAN ESTATES, ILL. — Sears has begun selling replacement parts for its Kenmore line of home appliances.

The No. 1 majap merchant is initially offering its Kenmore Genuine Parts through about 50 dealer stores and will expand distribution to all 760 dealer stores by early 2001. Unlike its full-line department stores, Sears’ dealer stores are independently owned and are largely located in rural U.S. communities.

Sears will also make the line available at its Parts & Repair centers and through the PartsDirect section of its website at www.sears.com.

The company said it created Kenmore Genuine Parts to provide do-it-yourselfers with quality replacement parts while simplifying the selection process. “Kenmore is the No. 1-selling brand in America, so it makes perfect sense to establish branded parts for our products,” said Kevin Callahan, VP/sales for Sears product repair services.

The announcement was made last month during Sears’ Dealerfest 2000, an annual convention that brings together dealer store owners to address key merchandising issues, strategies and developmental training.
