HP, B&O Team Up For PC, Tablet Audio

Palo Alto, Calif. – Hewlett Packard will team up with luxury-audio brand Bang & Olufsen to bring B&O audio expertise to PCs, tablets and accessories.

The HP products will carry the Bang & Olufsen or B&O PLAY brands.

HP and Bang & Olufsen will custom tune each notebook, desktop, tablet and accessory for precise sound, the companies said. The products will feature a “dedicated audio island” that isolates audio circuits from other signals on the motherboard. The headphone jack will limit the amount of metal parts to reduce ground noise.

Preset configurations created by HP and B&O will let users customize audio for movies, music and voice through an audio control panel. Customers can also manually tune the sound.

The first HP personal computing systems with Bang & Olufsen and B&O PLAY audio will be available in the spring. The Bang & Olufsen brand will appear on HP’s Spectre, OMEN, ENVY and select commercial PCs. The B&O Play brand will appear on HP Pavilion PCs, tablets and PC audio accessories.
