GE Appliances’ sales to appliance dealers, distributors and builders via its three-year-old CustomerNet online ordering system are approaching the $2 billion mark, according to the company.
An upgraded version, CustomerNet 2.0, recently went online. Features include the ability to input and order parts and extended service plans, links to breaking news about the company, and the ability to order point-of-purchase and ad materials via the Internet.
The e-commerce system is currently used by more than 2,500 GE Appliances dealers, distributors and builders, who can sign up for the service for free, the company said.
Subscribers can sign up by accessing www.gecustomernet.com and get a user ID and password. Functions include placing orders and checking product availability and prices. Users can also download spec sheets and user manuals.
