EZViz has broadened its lineup of smart-home security devices with the addition of the Mini Trooper camera.
Featuring a wire-free design that’s meant for easy installation both indoors and out, the Mini Trooper boasts a nine-month battery life, 720p daytime and nighttime video, and a 116-degree wide-angle lens. Video can be stored on a MicroSD card (supports up to 128GB), or users can connect to the Cloud via Wi-Fi or Ethernet. A mobile app allows both viewing and camera control.
EZViz said the camera will soon support Amazon Alexa voice commands to display the video feed on an Echo Show. (This will, however, disable security encryption for the images and video.)
A separate base station enables control of up to six Mini Troopers or other EZViz cameras.
The Mini Trooper carries a $109 suggested retail. It’s also bundled as a kit with one camera, a base station and an 8GB MicroSD card that’s priced to retail for $149.
