Using eSports To Transform the Retail Experience: Now On Demand

Concrete suggestions on planning, promoting and game-day decisions, including mentions of which manufacturers the independent retailer has teamed with.

The eSports market is experiencing “phenomenal” year-over-year growth and is expected to generate $2 billion in global revenue by 2022, according to Futuresource Consulting’s Tristan Veale.

Veale presents exclusive market research for the burgeoning gaming category in TWICE’s webinar, “Using eSports to Transform the Retail Experience.” He also details the “new generation of celebrity” who are gracing the cover of ESPN magazine, and what drove the spike in gaming headset sales this year.

Retailers can be expected to begin pushing higher-quality headsets moving forward as models with more features are being brought to market, said Veale.

Also in the webinar: Chad Taylor, gaming manager at Abt Electronics, walks the audience through the top 10 things they should consider before holding a tournament within their stores. Abt has staged a half-dozen tournaments at its Glenview, Ill., store, and the independent retailer has more in the works for 2019.
