Best Buy’s GreatCall Lively Mobile Plus Knows When You’ve Fallen & Will Call For Help

Best Buy’s GreatCall subsidiary unveiled a 4G LTE wearable designed to help keep aging adults safe and maintain independence.

The Lively Mobile Plus lets wearers connect to 5Start agents 24/7 with the press of a button. 5Star urgent response is an emergency service exclusive to GreatCall products, and agents are certified by the International Academics of Emergency Dispatch, an industrywide certification for first responders, according to a GreatCall spokesperson. They have access to the customer’s personal profile and can offer personalized help based on the situation, as well as dispatch emergency services and communicate with the wearer throughout an incident.

The waterproof device features GPS and an amplified speaker for two-way communication. Fall-detection technology will automatically connect the user to an agent in the event of a fall.

An accompanying app will deliver emergency alerts and subscriber location to family members.

It’s currently available $49.99, with a promotional service beginning at $19.99/month.
