New York – Barnes & Noble reduced the price of its 7-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Nook to $149 from $199 and the 10-inch version to $279 from $349 in its stores and through BN.com.
Barnes & Noble members get an additional 10 percent off both devices.
The permanent reduction comes in time for graduation and Father’s Day gift giving.
The bookseller also announced a limited-time promotion in which consumers can trade in an old Nook in-store and get a $50 credit toward the purchase of a Nook by Samsung. The credit is available through June 13 and applies to trade-ins of Nook 1st Edition, Nook Color, Nook Tablet, Nook Simple Touch, Nook Simple Touch with GlowLight, and Nook HD and Nook HD+. Customers can also trade in select iPad, Kindle, and Nexus tablets to receive a credit of $25-$200 toward the purchase of Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Nook.
The 7-inch Nook by Samsung was launched last August at $179 followed by the October launch of the 10.1-inch version at an introductory $299.
Both Android tablets were the first co-branded tablets from B&N, which has previously developed its own.
