Tivoli Audio Adds Four Colors To Model One BT

The limited-release collection draws inspiration from Japanese interiors and natural materials

Tivoli Audio has introduced four new color options for its Model One BT radio, drawing inspiration from Japanese interiors and natural materials. The new finishes – Sage, Eucalyptus, Ginger and Angora – bring updated color choices to the company’s wood-cabinet radio while retaining its familiar design.

CEO and Chief Designer Paul DePasquale developed the collection following his travels in Japan, where he observed the use of natural materials, textures and muted colors in homes, hotels and retail spaces.

“During my travels through Japan, I was struck by how effortlessly natural materials, textures, and colors come together in homes, hotels, natural parks, small shops, cafes, and even in Japanese-made dishware, decor, furniture, and pottery. I repeatedly noticed a blend of wood, stone, and organic elements across botanicals, herbs, and fruits. I felt that if we could bring this organic calm to our Model One, we could offer a fresh take on how audio products feel effortless in the home, breathing and living with your environment in a way you don’t find in most electronics. All the colors are easy on the eye and truly represent an essence of our company culture and design DNA that we at Tivoli Audio are truly proud of,” Paul DePasquale shared.

The four finishes offer different interpretations of the natural palette: Sage is a muted green, Eucalyptus takes a lighter botanical approach, Ginger adds a warm earthy tone, and Angora provides a neutral option.

The Model One design dates to 2000 and has remained a central part of Tivoli Audio’s product lineup. The Model One BT maintains the original’s three-knob interface, analog AM/FM tuner and real wood-veneer cabinet while adding Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity and a full-range driver.

DePasquale said the new colors also reflect the popularity of the original walnut-and-beige Model One BT in Japanese homes and the company’s interest in offering a more contemporary alternative.

“I was looking deeper into how our products resonate in the market and further analyzing the deep history that our Model One BT in walnut/beige has made its way into so many homes throughout Japan,” added DePasquale. “Our walnut products live in so many spaces globally because of their easy, relaxed style. It’s not too hard, not too soft, and it blends into a wide range of interiors. So from that I was really looking to bring a modern, fresh, calm, and relaxed look to this new collection.”.

Along with the new finishes, Tivoli Audio highlighted its efforts to reduce the environmental impact of its products and packaging. Those initiatives include increasing recycled packaging materials, reducing plastic use and responsibly sourcing cabinet wood. The company also donates returned products that can no longer be sold or recycles and repurposes them for other uses.

Through its Tivoli Together initiative, the company also works with nonprofit organizations, including One Tree Planted, on reforestation efforts.

The Model One BT in Sage, Eucalyptus, Ginger, and Angora is available now as a limited release for $199 each at TivoliAudio.com and select retailers, while supplies last.
