Theory Audio Design has announced the launch of its ic5 high-output in-ceiling loudspeaker. Marketed as the ‘little brother’ of the company’s ic6 speaker, the ic5 5-inch loudspeaker offers performance from a smaller aperture.
The ic5 is positioned as being ideal for residential or commercial installations, surround sound or distributed audio, and due to its sealed design and optional all-weather grille, it offers specifiers and installers a discreet solution for outdoor applications. The in-ceiling loudspeaker offers a maximum output of 108dB thanks to the advanced polymer compression drivers and 5-inch carbon fiber woofer. For large, distributed installs, the ic5 includes a switch-selectable 70V/100v transformer that can be driven direct by Theory’s DLC Series Loudspeaker Controllers.
ic5 will begin shipping worldwide later this month (September 2025). At CEDIA Expo 2025, Theory will offer demonstrations of the ic5 in HPA 202. Attendees can also stop by Theory Booth 2933 to see the ic5 up close. For more information, please visit Theory Audio Design’s website.
