Torrance, Calif. – Alpine will air its first TV commercial in more than 15 years in mid-July when it airs a 30-second spot promoting its line of Restyle systems, which consist of 9-inch car-navigation systems bundled with install kits and factory-databus interfaces for installation in specific SUVs and trucks.
The cable-TV ad will feature the company’s customized Jeep Wrangler demo vehicle with a full Alpine Restyle system. The commercial will appear in more than 25 major metropolitan areas for more than a month to drive customers to select authorized Alpine retailers, a spokesperson said.
The Kevlar-coated Jeep in the commercial, made by Starwood Motors of Dallas, highlights the benefits of the X009-WRA Restyle system for 2011-up Jeep Wranglers. The commercial depicts the product attributes “in a practical but humorous tone,” a spokesperson said. A popular reality TV star “well-known among car buffs” will put in a surprise appearance, the company added.
The Restyle 9-inch system “is the only one of its size in the aftermarket,” said Steve Crawford, VP/GM of Alpine’s aftermarket business unit. “The commercial introduces this one-of-a-kind product to thousands of mainstream consumers and steers them to our authorized Alpine retailers for a hands-on demonstration.”
Each X009 Restyle dash system features a 9-inch touchscreen that controls audio, video, navigation and Bluetooth, each packaged with a vehicle-specific dash kit and an iDatalink Maestro OEM-integration module to retain factory features. Seven vehicle-specific Restyle systems are compatible with the Jeep Wrangler, select GM trucks and SUVs, select Ford F-150 trucks, Ram trucks and the Toyota Tundra. An eighth model is a universal-fit version requiring custom installation.
