Acer Readies More PCs, Android Tablets

Taipei, Taiwan – Acer is going to the Computex trade show here with three new all-in-one PCs, two new Android tablets, a new two-in-one notebook, and a new Chrome-based desktop.

The show runs from June2-6.

The two new Android tablets in the Iconia One  series feature 8- and 7-inch HD IPS screens and  Android 5.1 Lollipop.

The Iconia One 8 (B1-830) comes with MediaTek octa-core processor to optimize web browsing, gaming, and video playing experience. It will join the previously announced Iconia One 8 (B1-820) with an Intel quad-core processor.
The Iconia One 7 (B1-760HD) features Acer Precision Plus technology, which supports control and writing with writing instruments that the company said could be as fine as a pencil. It also features textile-patterned back cover in a variety of colors, and it is preloaded with the Acer Iconia Suite to simplify tasks with touch gestures and quick-access icons.

New notebook and desktop PCs include the Aspire Switch 11 V two-in-one notebook and the Aspire Z Series all-in-one PCs, including the 23.8-inch touch-enabled Aspire Z3-710 and 19.5-inch Aspire ZC-700, both with Full HD LED backlit displays. All models ship with Windows 8.1 and are upgradable to Windows 10.

The Aspire Switch 11 V 2-in-1 notebook features Intel Core M processors, aluminum cover, up to 8 hours of battery life, and “latch-less” magnetic hinge to switch to among notebook, pad, tent, and display modes.

It comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3-protected 11.6-inch Full HD panel with Zero Air Gap and IPS technology to improve image crispness and deliver a wide viewing angle. Other features include dual front-facing speakers and audio enhanced by Acer TrueHarmony and Dolby Digital Plus Home Theater technologies.

 A new 10-inch Switch model featuring the recent Intel Atom x5 processor will be announced later this year.

In all-in-one (AiO) PCs, the company is refreshing its Aspire Z Series with the introduction of the 23.8-inch Aspire Z3-710 and the 19.5-inch ZC-700, both sporting a Full HD LED backlit display, Windows 8.1, and upgradability to Windows 10.

The new Z Series all-in-one PCs feature slim 36mm chassis and choice of Intel Core, Pentium, or Celeron processor options. They also come with up to 8GB of memory, up to 2TB of hard drive storage, and optional DVD Super Multi optical drive.  They also come with Full HD webcams, stereo speakers and Acer TrueHarmony and Dolby Digital Plus Home Theater audio technologies.

Their screens can be tilted from -5 degrees to 25 degrees.

The all-in-ones will ship in the third quarter, with specs and pricing varying by region.

Also new: the successor to the Chromebox CXI2 Chrome OS desktop. It gets Intel Core i3 and Celeron processor options, Intel HD Graphics,16GB SSD, a maximum of 8GB RAM, 802.11ac wireless, and Gigabit Ethernet connectivity. It is Citrix  Ready out of the box. Pricing, specs, and availability will vary by region.
