The Gentex Aftermarket Full Display Mirror was designed to enhance driving safety by optimizing the driver’s rear visibility and help eliminate blind spots. It functions as a standard automatic dimming rearview mirror, but with the flip of a lever, a custom high-dynamic-range imager captures video of the vehicle’s rear view and streams it to a unique mirror-integrated LCD display. This Full Display Mirror features an LCD display with a resolution of 1,280 by 275 that will dramatically improve rear vision with no obstructions from headrests, C&D pillars, passenger, luggage or anything else that may take up space in the backseat. The system provides hybrid, bi-modal functionality with Mirror and Display mode, allowing users to toggle between mirror and display modes to accommodate various driving scenarios, weather conditions and driver preferences. Mirror mode operates as a standard mirror detecting headlight glare from trailing vehicles and darkens to the precise level necessary to preserve driver vision. In Display mode, the custom-designed high-dynamic-range imager with pixel-level intelligence provides streaming HD video at 60fps for optimal rear vision. Additionally, the mirror has driver adjustable display: brightness, title and rotate with automatic day/night brightness control and integrates HomeLink car-to-home automation, providing three buttons that can be programmed to operate garage doors, security gates, home lighting and more.
