Santa Fe Springs, Calif. — Home security firm Swann Communications added a new wireless security camera to its lineup.
The ADW-300 uses an encrypted, frequency-hopping wireless signal to communicate with a receiver, which can be connected to a DVR, VCR or monitor. The color camera records VGA resolution video with a transmission range of 160 feet.
At night, the camera will automatically shift to black-and-white, infrared recording.
The camera/receiver kit will retail for a suggested $199.
Last month, the company added a DVR/flashlight surveillance device to its lineup.
The $499 FlashlightDVR incorporates a flashlight, VGA color camera and 128MB worth of internal memory (with an SD card slot) alongside a built-in microphone for capturing audio.
Video captured by the FlashlightDVR can be transferred to computers via USB.
