Orlando, Fla. — Sprint Nextel dropped the price of its over-the-air music-download service to $0.99 per song, effective during the first week of April, the company said here on the eve of the CTIA show.
For $0.99 the customer gets dual-download capability, meaning the song can be downloaded to a phone and a home PC. Previously, Sprint Nextel charged $2.49 per dual download and the standard industry cost for a dual download is $1.99.
The new price brings Sprint Nextel’s pricing in line with the cost of a download from iTunes, Yahoo! Music and other authorized download services.
