Samsung’s first under-TV speaker, the $329-suggested HW-H600 Sound Stand, hit the market earlier this year and is already a winner.
“With Slim Acoustic Technology, the HW-H600 allows consumers to get big sound without the huge speakers in a sleek body built to save space,” said Dave Das, home entertainment VP. “Now those with limited space can enjoy the dramatic sounds of their favorite movie even more than before.”
The 4.2-channel Sound Stand holds TVs up to 60 inches and features Dolby Digital decoding, 3D-capable HDMI input, optical input, HDMI output with audio return channel and two built-in woofers. A listening-position expansion mode widens the soundfield and lifts imaging from below a TV screen to the middle of the screen.
Another key feature is Bluetooth Power On, which lets users turn on the soundbar remotely from a Bluetoothequipped mobile device. TV Sound Connect uses Bluetooth to reproduce TV sound from Bluetooth-equipped Samsung TVs.
The product also reproduces music from Bluetooth-connected phones and tablets and from USB sticks and USB hard drives bearing MP3, WMA and AAC music files.
Other features include four DSP settings (music, cinema, sports and voice) and compressed-music enhancer.
