San Diego – Sony Electronics’ headquarters, closed since Monday due to the fires raging in Southern California, will stay closed for the remainder of the week and is expected to reopen Monday October 29. Sony has 2,000 employees in and around San Diego.
Yesterday Sony said its Vaio PC plant in Rancho Bernardo has also been closed.
Some employees have been working from home since the emergency began.
Sony spokesperson Marcy Cohen reported yesterday that the fire came within yards of the building Monday but the wind turned it away and there was no damage to the facility.
