Miami — Sony unveiled its first marine head units with USB connectors for an iPod, iPhone and USB media player control at the IBEX boat show, here.
The CDX-H910UI and CDX-M60UI CD/receivers include 4.9-foot cables and offer rotate and push buttons for selecting music. For owners who store their boats during the off-season, the units also have memory backup to save presets.
The units include satellite and HD Radio capability; they play MP3, non-DRM WMA and non-DRM AAC music files.
The CDX-H910UI, at a suggested $350, is IPx5-compliant, splash-proof and sun and salt-resistant. It has large buttons, a large display and rear RCA auxiliary input.
The CDX-M60UI, at a suggested $200, has a front-panel auxiliary input, and it has a coated circuit board and a drip panel to prevent corrosion. It may also be used with a water-resistant cover.
Both models ship in January.
Sony also introduced a compatible Remote Commander remote control.
