Russound Tackles Placement Flexibility

Newmarket, N.H. – Russound
designed two new compact speakers in its Acclaim 7 custom-install series to
maximize placement options, simplify retrofits and discreetly add front-height speakers
in home theaters.

The Acclaim 7W52FT left-right speaker and the single-point stereo
7W51SFT feature square frames requiring
only 7.25 inches by 7.25 inches of cutout space on a wall. Both also feature 15-degree
fixed-tilt baffle that lets installer direct sound in any of four directions to
a desired location. The left-right speaker adds a pivoting tweeter. Both
feature 88dB efficiency.

“The size, combined with a fixed-tilt chassis, makes them a great
problem solver for installations where ideal speaker placement isn’t possible
due to size or location limitations,” the company said.  The speakers’ small dimensions also enable installation
within a single stud bay along with an amplified keypad, reducing the work
involved in running wires in retrofit installations, it added. The speakers
also lend themselves to in-ceiling applications where larger speakers wouldn’t
fit or would look ungainly.

The 7W51SFT will be sold
in single units, and the 7W52FT will be sold in pairs, at prices to be
disclosed by CEDIA Expo time.
