Runco Adds High-End Video Xtreme 3-Chip DLP Projectors

Beaverton, Ore. – Just about a week before its showing at CEDIA Expo, Runco launched Thursday two new high-brightness Video Xtreme home-theater projectors targeting well-heeled consumers with large media rooms and cinema-sized screens.

Models VX-33i ($49,995 suggested retail) and VX-33d ($59,995) are both shipping now. The VX-33i offers integrated video processing/scaling; while the VX-33d is optimized for use with one of Runco’s external high-performance DHD controllers.

“This project represents Runco’s legacy in high-end projection,” said Gerry Perkel, Runco CEO. “Runco has always dominated in this elite market space and these new products give our dealers the solutions that will enable them to continue to own their markets.”

Both offer 3-chip DLP light engines using 1080p SuperOnyx DMDs, and Runco-proprietary video processing and scaling.

Included is Runco’s proprietary O-Path technology and ISF-certified calibration standards.

Both models offer several proprietary CinOptx lens options for greater installation flexibility.

Both are available with Runco’s CineWide and CineWide with AutoScope technology. CineWide is the first 2.35:1 projection solution for reproducing 2.35:1 CinemaScope movies with full vertical screen image height.
