Fort Worth, Tex. – RadioShack has started selling PlayStation2 Ultimate Entertainment Systems for the 2002 holiday season, the chain announced.
The bundle system, which includes both games and accessories along with a PS2 console, is being distributed to RadioShack on exclusive basis from Electro Source. Bundled games include: ATV Offroad Fury and Gran Turismo 3, and accessories include a Grand Turismo strategy guide, two DualShock analog controllers with extension cables and $50 in coupons for gaming accessories at RadioShack. The systems selling price is $299.99.
RadioShack will sell the systems both in its stores and through its e-commerce site at www.radioshack.com.
‘We believe the bundles will complement RadioShack’s gaming accessory line,’ said Bob Kilinski, senior vice president and general manager of RadioShack’s Connecting Places strategic business unit. ‘The PlayStation2 bundle system is a tremendous deal for anyone shopping for a new gaming system during the holidays this year. With all of its combined components, the system is sure to be a hit.’
RadioShack said it has also developed a ‘special order program’ through which customers can also purchase other game platforms and software options. Bundles will be available by special order for PlayStation, GameCube, Game Boy Advance and Xbox, RadioShack said.
Game bundles including a driving pack, a combat/fighting pack, a horror pack, and an adventure/fun pack and an extreme pack will also be available by special order.
Electro Source will fulfill the special order items for RadioShack.
