Polaroid Shutters Instant Film Business

Boston – Polaroid is shuttering its instant film factories in Massachusetts, Mexico and The Netherlands ending the companies 60 year run as the leader in instant film photography, according to printed reports.

The company will lay off about 450 people and will focus its efforts on other ventures such as Polaroid-branded digital cameras and consumer electronics, according to the Associated Press. The film will remain available into next year.
