Long Beach, Calif. - Pioneer will expand distribution of select
products to all of the more than 100 Best Buy stores selling musical instruments in the U.S.
Seven of Best Buy's flagship musical instruments flagship stores will also get Pioneer's top-of-the-line turntable and mixer.
The company also sells through such specialty MI retailers as Sam Ash and Guitar Center.
The distribution expansion, said senior marketing manager Dave Arevalo, will expose more consumers to DJ products and potentially expand the market.
Because Pioneer's products are designed for novices as well as enthusiasts, visibility in Best Buy stores "will ensure that enthusiasts and novices have access to the premier choice of DJ gear," he added.
Arevalo also contended that "with the increasing popularity of electronic/dance music influencing today's mainstream market, it is a natural progression to bring our diverse product offering to consumers through an outlet like Best Buy."
The products available to all of Best Buy's musical instruments locations are the CDJ-350 entry-level digital multimedia player, CDJ-2000 flagship digital multimedia player, DJM-350 entry-level DJ mixer, DJM-2000 flagship DJ mixer and HDJ-2000 flagship headphones.
