Pioneer Car Launches AppRadio2 Commercial

Long Beach, Calif.
– Pioneer released a 90-second lifestyle commercial for Internet distribution
as part of its marketing campaign for the $499-suggested AppRadio 2 head unit,
which turns iPhones and select Android smartphones into a vehicle’s main source
of content.

The commercial
will be aired on Pioneer’s

website

,
the company’s

YouTube

channel, and Pioneer’s

Facebook

and

Twitter

pages. It will also run
as a Pandora media buy on Pandora’s PC and mobile applications from April 23
through May 23.

The commercial
follows a young couple on a road trip as they travel and “discover some of
life’s greater moments using only their car, smartphone, apps and Pioneer’s
AppRadio 2 car stereo, which guides and entertains them through their scenic
journey,” the company said. The commercial features recording artist
Hellogoodbye’s new hit single “When We First Met.”

 The AppRadio 2 head unit connects via USB to
the iPhone 4 and 4S and also to a growing number of Android smartphones
equipped with a Mobile High Definition Link (MHL) port or HDMI Micro port. The
head unit can be used to stream content from the smartphone and smartphone apps
as well as control the smartphone and apps.

The majority of AppRadio
2’s functions and controls are operated via a high resolution 7-inch capacitive
touchscreen that supports multi-touch gestures. The head unit features control
and playback of apps and music, AM/FM tuner, built-in Bluetooth hands-free
calling, a built-in GPS antenna to improve the position accuracy of a GPS
navigation app stored on a connected smartphones, an input for an optional
rear-facing backup camera and no CD player.
