Phonex Ships Wireless Phone Jack

Salt Lake City — Powerline-networking manufacturer Phonex introduced its fifth-generation wireless phone jack today.

The Easy Jack 2 features a base unit, the PX211, which plugs into an electrical outlet and phone jack, and a wireless extension, which plugs into electrical outlet to provide a phone jack for satellite receivers, DVRs and dial-up modems. It also offers a new design from its predecessors with an enlarged configuration button and a green LED to indicate a successful configuration.

The Easy Jack 2 offers preset security codes to ensure the extensions do not interfere with other devices, auto-configuration and support for caller ID. The device can be used to with up to eight extension units (the PX212 for a suggested $45). The base unit and one extension will retail for a suggested $89.
