Parasound To Offer Halo Audio In Black

San Francisco — Parasound will make its high-end Halo series of audio components available in black to complement the titanium-silver finish that the series has offered since its launch more than a decade ago.

The company cited demand from consumers who increasingly use A/V receivers and popularly priced surround processors to control surround systems. “The majority of AVRs are black, and some end users have a strong preference for components of a single color,” said president Richard Schram.

Halo components feature extruded-aluminum front panels. Black versions will be priced the same as their silver counterparts.

The first Halo component to be offered in both black and silver will be the $3,000-suggested Halo A 31 three-channel power amplifier, which will be available in black in October. Additional Halo components will be rolled out in black in intervals of about a month, the company said.

The next black component will be the A 51 five-channel amp, followed by the A 21 two-channel amplifier. All three amplifiers use the same 250-watt high-current amplifier stage so they can be combined to amplify a multichannel surround system.

The company will later add black versions of all other Halo components, including the Halo JC 1 400-watt monoblock power amplifier, JC 2 and JC 2 BP preamplifiers, and JC 3 phono preamplifier.
