Redmond, Wash. – Microsoft has cut the price of Xbox, effective
Friday.
The price of an Xbox 360 Elite console will drop by $100, now
priced at $299 estimated retail in the U.S., Microsoft said today.
The Xbox 360 Pro console will now be priced at $249, a $50 price
cut, while supplies last.
The Xbox 360 Arcade console continues to be priced at $199.
Earlier this month, rival Sony introduced the new PS3 system, and
it cut
the price of the current PS3 with 80GB HDD to $299 and the 160GB HDD
version to $399 on Aug. 18.
