MartinLogan Expands Bezel-Less Speaker Design

Lawrence, Kan. – MartinLogan is expanding its selection of custom-installed bezel-less speakers with the shipment of its Helos 12 and Helos 22 in-ceiling speakers.

“There are other speakers in the MartinLogan architectural line with bezel-less design, but MartinLogan has never offered it in their more affordable in-ceiling designs,” a spokesperson told TWICE.

The $299-each Helos 12 and $399-each Helos 22 deliver the same performance as their predecessors but add low-profile paintable micro perforated grilles with no visible bezel for a less obtrusive. The grilles are magnet-mounted.

They feature the same neodymium soft-dome tweeters, high-rigidity aluminum cone woofers and proprietary crossover topology as their predecessors. The Helos 12 features a single 1-inch tweeter mounted on a pivoting stem to aim the tweeter toward the primary listening location. The Helos 22 is a single stereo speaker with two 0.75-inch tweeters for use in small rooms or hallways or to deliver wide-dispersion home theater surround. Both models feature 6.5-inch midrange/bass cone with extended-throw driver assembly and thermal protection.

Both use proprietary Vojtko crossover topology to deliver “vanishingly low” distortion and “seamless” driver integration, the company said. The crossovers are promoted as preserving “even the most microscopic sonic nuances while handling the full dynamics of any source.”
