WASHINGTON — LG Electronics presented 19-inch LCD monitors and disk drives to six public schools during ceremonies for the “2005 Spotlight Awards for Teachers making a Difference,” that was coordinated by the Creative Coalition and American Federation of Teachers.
The event paid tribute to the schools and teachers of Creative Coalition members, including co-president and actor Joe Pantoliano, actor Steve Buscemi and actress Phylicia Rashad, among others.
A long-time technology partner with The Creative Coalition, LG donated its award-winning L1980Q LCD monitor and GSA-5163D external 16X Super-Multi DVD writer to each of the schools. Honored alumni and their public school teachers included the following:

In addition to honoring his teacher, O’Donnell (The West Wing, The McLaughlin Group) moderated a lively dialogue between the teachers and their former students whose lives they impacted. The event was capped by the presentation of the “2005 Spotlight Awards for Teachers Making a Difference” before more than 2,000 teachers, where LG presented its monitors and disk drives to the schools.
