New York – LaCie today
released its external hard drives designed in conjunction with Porsche Designs.
The new portable and desktop
drives feature Porsche’s gray, brushed-aluminum case.
The portable P’9220 comes
in 500GB and 1TB size capacities, while the P’9230 desktop SKUs are 1TB and 2TB.
All have USB 3.0 connectivity.
The portable 500GB and
1TB models have price points of $104 and $159, respectively. The desktop models
are $119 for the 1TB model and $159 for the 2TB drive.
The models are available as of today in stores, online and direct
from LaCie.
The company is also rolling out Mac versions that have a slightly
lighter finish to better match Apple’s color scheme. These are also USB 2.0
models as Apple does not support USB 3.0.
Pricing is $99 for the portable 500GB and $149 for the 1TB. The
desktop SKUs are $109 for the 1TB and $149 for the 2TB.
