Kenwood Announces Rebate, Appointment

Dallas – Kenwood
came to MERA’s KnowledgeFest with a $300 rebate for its flagship DVD/navigation
system, a new Eastern regional sales manager, and an announcement that more
than 190 dealers won an all-expense-paid vacation for two to Jamaica.

The rebate program
runs from Sept. 1 to Oct. 31 for consumers who buy the company’s DNX9980HD in-dash
DVD/navigation receiver.

The rebate is a
follow-up to the annual rebate program run in the summer in conjunction with
Garmin. That program targeted three Kenwood in-dash A/V-navigation units,
including the flagship, all with Garmin technology. The rebates ran from $100
to $300 depending on the model.

“Considering the
tough economy, this is a perfect time to drive consumer floor traffic to
Kenwood Excelon dealers and increase ASPs in the process,” said sales VP Dave
Hoag.

In new personnel,
the company announced the appointment of Ed Meenan to the position of Eastern regional
sales manager. He has more than 20 years of CE experience, the majority of that
in regional and national sales manager positions. Most recently he was with Eclipse
by Fujitsu Ten, where he established the company’s expediter sales program. He
has also had sales management experience with Clifford, Code Alarm and
Boomerang Tracking.

In updating the
progress of its annual six-month-long dealer incentive program, the company
said more than 190 dealers will get an all-expense-paid vacation for two in Jamaica
from Oct. 8-16.

“Amidst this
year’s tumultuous market, a record number of dealers placed their focus on
Kenwood, achieved their individual sales goals, and will soon be Jammin’ in
Jamaica with Kenwood,” said Hoag.
