Kaleidescape Unveils Cinema One Server

Sunnyvale, Calif. – Networkable movie server resource
Kaleidescape introduced Thursday its Cinema One out-of-the-box DVD movie server
priced at under $5,000.

The system was designed as a hassle-free, instant viewing and
management of an entire movie collection, and is expected to open the
capability to a broader segment of customers,

said.

The unit also includes the company’s new Child Remote simplified
remote and user interface to automatically assist young children in operating
the system and selected content designated as appropriate by parents.

 “Our dealers and customers
have been asking for a simple-to-install Kaleidescape System,” said Michael
Malcolm,  Kaleidescape chairman and CEO.
“The Cinema One makes it possible for many more customers to enjoy the richness
of the Kaleidescape experience.”

Cinema One is a single component movie server capable of storing
225 DVDS or 2,500 CDs, designed for simple installation. It was said to be
based on and replaces the Kaleidescape Mini System.

Key benefits include: instant viewing without the need to find
and load discs; kid friendly operation; simple installation; two independent music
zones, enabling a movie to be watched in one room while music is enjoyed in
another area of the home; and easy expansion of storage with the addition of
additional Kaleidescape players to the home network.
