New York — Accessories makers spared no time in jumping into the new iPhone market, making cases available immediately for Apple’s new flagship 5S and colorful 5C phones.
Luvvit unveiled some of the first cases for the anticipated iPhone 5C before the smartphone had been officially announced.
Luvvit has 17 SKUs showing on its website, including a screen protector, its Hybrid Kickstand case, its Armor Shell case, and its Skinny hard cases available in several colors. All prices are $19.95.
A spokesperson confirmed that the cases have already begun shipping.
Always poised to pounce on a new Apple announcement, iLuv Creative Technology unveiled five models today.
The Vyneer features a polycarbonate shell with a soft thermoplastic elastomer frame around corners and edges and a translucent base. It features a wide opening in the bottom to accommodate all ports, and a variety of earphone plugs and cables.
The La Pedrera is an Antoni Gaudi-inspired design with an artistic 3D effect polycarbonate hardshell case.
The Aurora Illusion is a glow-in-the-dark case with laser-etched patterns that are illuminated at night.
The Diary Premium wallet case is made of PU-backed “split” leather with two slots for credit cards and a polycarbonate interior shell. It allows a user to answer a call while the screen cover is closed.
Finally, iLuv has extended its Peanuts cases line for the new iPhones. The hard shells features popular Peanuts characters including Snoopy and his “fashionable sister” Belle.
Retail prices range from $9.99 to $29.99.
Case Scenario is extending three of its cases for the new 5C.
In its Pantone Universe line, the Clip & Go features a three-part interchangeable design consisting of a hard polycarbonate shell wrapped around a shock-absorbent silicone case and a satin finish flap that protects the front of the iPhone screen while also doubling as a stand for landscape and portrait viewing. The three cases can be combined for maximum protection or used individually.
The Pantone Universe snap-on hard shell case, made with glossy in-mold decoration technology, will be offered in five new colors including Blue Atoll (Pantone #16-4535), Dandelion (13-0758), Purple Cactus Flower (18-3250), Jet Black (19-0303) and the 2014 Color of the Year, to be determined
The Keith Haring Crystal case is a lightweight, flexible case featuring four of the iconic designer’s artwork on a transparent case that highlights the color of the new iPhone while impact protection.
The Pantone cases will be available for $35 and $30 in late September.
The Haring Crystal case will also ship in September with a $20 retail.
Seidio will have their two signature cases available for the 5C and 5S.
The Surface is the thinner of the two cases, designed for everyday protection against typical bumps and scratches. The Active case adds an extra layer of protection. Both are available with or without an aluminum kickstand.
X-Doria is extending five of its case designs for the new iPhones.
The Defense 720° features a hard injected protective shield that completely covers the screen without affecting touch control, the company said. A soft rubber edge adds a layer of protection on the sides. It comes in blue, purple and black for the iPhone 5S and in gray, red, blue and yellow for the 5C.
The Rapt is a durable polycarbonate and thermoplastic urethane case with an open screen cutout. It has a matte exterior with glossy accents available in black/grey, blue/blue and pink/fuchsia for both the 5S and 5C.
X-Doria’s Scene Plus combines a hard polycarbonate shell with a rubber exterior for added shock and jolt protection and has a translucent back. The soft rubbery cover extends over the volume and lock buttons without blocking access to the controls. It will be available in Black Prism, Pink Bubbles and Blurry Dots Blue for the 5S and Bubbles, Tribal HB, and Stripes for the 5C.
A lower priced version in solid colors, the Scene, is available in red, gray, blue and yellow for the 5C.
The Dash Icon fashion cases feature textured fabrics and vibrant colors with subtle “puff prints” that create a slightly raised surface to “inject tactile interest,” the company said, and adds a hard polycarbonate inner shell for protection. It is available in Tribal Red, Navy Dots, Stripes, and Modern Blue Plaid for the 5S.
The X-Doria cases range from $24.99 to $29.99 and are available now at X-Doria.com.
