Santa Clara, Calif. – Intel reported a net income of $3 billion
on sales of $11 billion for its third quarter, ended Sept. 30.
The $11 billion in revenue was a quarterly record for Intel and
18 percent higher than the same period last year.
“Intel’s third-quarter results set all-time records for revenue
and operating income,” said Paul Otellini, Intel president and CEO, “Looking
forward, we continue to see healthy worldwide demand for computing products of
all types and are particularly excited about our next-generation processor,
codenamed Sandy Bridge.”
Intel experienced 14 percent growth in its PC client group, with
mobile processors sales hitting record levels, the company said.
