Wilsonville, Ore. — After revealing last week that it was proceeding on an acquisition offer by eMachines’ co-founder John Hui, the board of projector manufacture InFocus disclosed late Wednesday it had received a last-minute counter “take over proposal” from an unnamed party.
A statement from InFocus provided few details of the mysterious bid, and company representatives could not be reached as this was posted.
InFocus said it has informed Hui’s equity investment company Image Holdings that it had received the proposal and would commence discussions with the party.
Last week, InFocus’board said it was recommending an agreement to be acquired by Image Holdings for $39 million. Even though it will discuss the new offer, the board told investors it continues to support the existing deal with Hui.
