Irvine, Calif. – Mobile-device accessory maker Incipio Technologies purchased Braven, the privately held maker of battery-operated Bluetooth speakers.
Incipio said it will make Braven’s products available to its 40,000 retail locations worldwide, although Braven products will continue to be available through Braven’s sales channels. The brand will launch new products in the coming months, Incipio added.
Braven founder Warren Osborn said the acquisition would provide Braven with “the infrastructure, expertise and global distribution to take the Braven portfolio to the next level.”
For Incipio, the acquisition “will create a more diverse product offering and “allow us to pioneer groundbreaking solutions to support the increasingly connected mobile world,” said founder/CEO Andy Fathollahi. The company offers protective accessories for mobile devices across all major brands, including Apple, BlackBerry, Google, HTC, Kindle, LG, Microsoft, Motorola, Nokia, Samsung and Sony.
Although part of Incipio, Braven will remain in Provo, Utah, and the Braven brand will be maintained as a separate product line.
