Irvine, Calif. — Gateway today introduced its holiday lineup, releasing two notebooks and a new desktop configuration.
The notebooks are part of Gateway’s P Series. The P-6301 and the P-6822 are centered on 17-inch displays with respective suggested retails of $799 and $949. The P-6301 features an Intel Pentium Dual Core processor, and Intel GL960 graphics chipset, 1GB of memory, 160GB hard drive, Wi-Fi and Windows Vista Home Premium. The P-6822 steps up to an Intel Centrino Duo mobile processor, with an Intel GM965 chipset 250GB hard drive and a built-in 1.3-megapixel Web cam.
Each is now shipping to retail.
The new desktops are based on the GT5628, but there will be several different versions configured to the retailers’ specifications, a company spokeswoman said, and range in price from $529 to $949. Some of the features that will be available are an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 processor, an Intel G33 chipset, NVIDIA GeForce 8500GT graphics card, 500GB hard drive, 3GB of DDR2 memory, DVD multi-drive, eight-channel audio, DVI-I with HDCP and S-Video ports.
These introductions follow the unveiling of the Gateway One all-in-one desktop at the DigitalLife show in September.
