Gateway Intros Movie-Centric Laptop

Irvine, Calif. — Gateway today introduced the TC notebook line designed for consumers looking for a high-end mobile entertainment experience.

The TC notebooks are built around a LED back-lit 14-inch HD widescreen display with a $649 starting price. 

The first models available are the TC7306u and the TC7307u. The first has a black case while the latter is

colored burgundy. General specifications for the two are identical; the 5.3-pound units are powered by an Intel Pentium 2GBhz Dual Core T4200 processor with 1MB of L2 cache and an 800MHz front-side bus. The laptops have 4GB of DDR2 667Mhz RAM, a 320GB hard drive and a multiformat, dual-layer DVD burner.

Future versions are expected to bump processing power up by using an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, an HDMI port and a 500GB hard drive. The line is also capable of supporting Blu-ray optical technology, Gateway said.
