Dual To Ship Video Line In Fall

Heathrow, Fla. – Dual Electronics formally announced its first Dual-branded line of advanced video products since the brand’s acquisition by Namsung America will ship to dealers this fall.

The Dual line will include LCD flat panel monitors, pure flat CRT televisions, and DVD/player recorders.

A Dual spokesman said the first wave of models will be announced in detail next month. The company said it will carry ‘multiple sku’s’ of LCD flat panel televisions, pure flat televisions, TV/DVD combos, and DVD-R recorders.

All of the products are being manufactured for the line under a long-term agreement with Skyworth Group, Ltd, which Namsung called ‘one of the three largest suppliers of video products in China.’

Skyworth made a modest investment in Namsung to support marketing efforts for the new TV and DVD products as part of the long term exclusive agreement between the two companies

‘When we first announced the re-introduction of the Dual brand in April, we said that we planned to market the full gamut of home entertainment products,’ said Jim Braun, Namsung America CEO. ‘Today, we are fulfilling this commitment by bringing an extensive selection of premium consumer television monitors and related goods to North America.

Under the terms of the agreement, the combined organization will open a distribution center on the west coast called Skyworth Dual Logistics (SDL), and will begin shipping products this fall.

Henry Lau, Skyworth Group vice chairman, said, ‘After much study and investigation, we are excited to join forces with the Dual Electronics team. Their marketing philosophy and approach to the Dual brand proposition is a perfect match for our products, which combine the latest feature content, style and, most important, value. This agreement now provides our manufacturing prime source capabilities with a permanent marketing arm in the North American market, and is a giant step toward accomplishing our company’s commitment to broadening worldwide sales.’
