Dell Unveils LED Monitors, TV Tuner For Mini

Round Rock, Texas — Dell today introduced its G series of LED widescreen flat-panel monitors and a USB digital TV tuner for use with its Inspiron Mini netbooks.

The new monitors include the 22-inch G2210, and the 24-inch G2410. The machines boast EPEAT Gold and Energy Star compliance. According to the company, the devices consume less than half of the typical average amount of power consumed by comparable flat-panel monitors. Both will be available in late February with prices starting at $270 for the G2210 and $359 for the G2410.

Dell said its new USB digital TV tuner allows individuals to watch broadcast TV on the Inspiron Mini. The company said it will offer region-specific versions designed to received local broadcast standers. The tuner will launch later this quarter, first in Europe, then North America, Asia-Pacific and China.

As reported earlier, Dell also made additions to its XPS lineup this week, adding new notebooks and a new desktop featuring AMD’s new Dragon platform.
