CompUSA, Microsoft Ready Vista Business For Launch

Redmond, Wash. — CompUSA will start selling Microsoft’s Vista Windows Business and Windows Small Business 2007 to small business customers starting Nov. 30.

Vista Basic and Premium will be released for consumer purchase on Jan. 30.

The program is being run through Microsoft’s Small Business Value Program which gives the small business owner a license and the ability to download a copy of the operating system. The business sales team will work with the customer to explain how to download and activate the software. The software is not purchased off the shelf, but through CompUSA’s business sales force.

“We know that more then 50 percent of small businesses shop for software at retail stores. Our expanded relationship with CompUSA enables those businesses looking to purchase five or more licenses to more easily take advantage of our Open Business and Open Value offerings,” said Cindy Bates, GM of Microsoft’s small business Group.

The Open Business and Open Value programs offer simple licensing offerings designed to save small businesses money and that are simple for these non-technical people to manage.
