Cypress, Calif. - Clarion Corp. of America (CCA) named Paul Lachner to the position of president to succeed Tom Hayashi, who will retire on March 31.

Hayashi has been president since April 2010 and has been with Clarion for more than 37 years.

Lachner joined Clarion in 2001 and most recently served as CCA's executive VP of sales.

Lachner's background includes time spent in engineering at a big three U.S. automaker and in sales management at a tier one system integrator and within the base of audio and infotainment suppliers to automakers, Clarion said.

Lachner holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan and a Masters Degree in Engineering Management from the University of Detroit Mercy.

"I look forward to leading the corporation in our new fiscal year with an increased focus on connected products and solutions," Lachner said.

CCA is a subsidiary of Tokyo-based Clarion Co. Ltd., which has been a consolidated subsidiary of the Hitachi Group since 2007 and has been a supplier of car audio and electronics since 1940.
