Start-up Cassia, at Sands 70564, couldn’t wait for the industry to release the initial Bluetooth Mesh specification, so it’s coming to CES with its own patented long-range Bluetooth technology to stretch Bluetooth range to 1,000 feet.
Cassia is taking pre-orders on its $99 hub, available sometime this quarter. The hub can interconnect up to 22 Bluetooth devices, including existing Bluetooth 4.0 LE and Classic gear as well as new Cassia products. Cassia products will include a $99 Bluetooth speaker, a $99 multi-color LED light, $29 smart plug, and a $99 wearable “I’ve fallen and I can’t get up” personal safety sensor/alert.
