Wilmington, Mass. — Blue Raven Technology is rolling out mail-in service and repair kits for iPods and iPhones.
The kits, available off the shelf at major retailers, provide one flat rate price regardless of the repair required so that consumers know the cost up front, the company said. Both the iPod and iPhone service include a free battery replacement in the cost of the service.
The box includes access to a prepaid shipping label and a box to mail the defective product to Blue Raven for repair. Blue Raven will receive and repair the defective device within three business days, and return the repaired device directly to the consumer by two-day freight service.
There are three different versions of the kits. The iPod service and repair kit will retail for $129 for all versions of the iPod and includes a free battery replacement. The kit includes free two-way shipping and Blue Raven’s 90-day guarantee repair assurances. A factory iPod replacement battery kit will retail for $59.95, including free two-way shipping and the 90-day guarantee. The iPhone cracked-screen repair kit, retailing for $129, includes express overnight freight service to Blue Raven and back to the consumer and the 90-day guarantee.
“This service greatly simplifies the iPod/iPhone repair process, making it incredibly easy and fast for consumers to repair out-of-warranty iPods and iPhones,” said Blue Raven’s president Glen Kashgegian. “Blue Raven has been repairing MP3 players, including iPods, since they were first launched, and have the most experience with repairs and spare parts. This service covers everything, short of user abuse, to provide the consumer with essentially a like-new iPod for much less time and money than the alternatives.”
