Appliance Parts Distributors Assn. Announces New Officers, Directors, Initiatives

Las Croabas, Puerto Rico — Members, trade partners and guests of the Appliance Parts Distributors Association (APDA) gathered at the El Conquistador Resort here April 12-15 to attend the trade group’s 2007 spring meeting.

The organization, which has served the parts distribution channel for the past 62 years, holds biannual meetings to review programs, exchange information, build relationships and elect new board officers and directors. Elected last month were Fred Lambert, Appliance Parts Company, as president; Kirk Colburn, Coast Appliance Parts, as VP; and Ron Clifton, of Tribles, as treasurer.

Newly elected board members include Billy Phillips, Appliance Parts Company, and Talmadge Sigmon, D&L Parts. Bruce Swanein, Appliance Parts Company, was re-elected to the board. Continuing board members include Susan Cashwell, Cashwell Appliance Parts; Preston Trible, Tribles; Jeff Flinn, Automatic Appliance Parts; Denny Dey, Dey Distributing; Pat Fox, Fox Appliance Parts; Doug Loughran, Reliable Parts; Leonard Kremers, Mid-South Appliance Parts; Tim Houtz, Dayton Appliance Parts; and Buzz Buvinghausen, 1stSource Servall.

Closed session manufacturer presentations were made by Alliance Laundry Systems, Bosch, Dacor, Electrolux, Fedders, General Electric, Haierand Whirlpool.

According to newly elected president Lambert, the group has set a number of key initiatives for the year, including eliciting the involvement in APDA of LG Appliances and Fisher & Paykel. In addition, “We will be focused on improving communications and relationships between appliance parts manufacturers and parts distributors,” he said.

The APDA’s Fall 2007 meeting will be held Sept. 8-11 at the Charleston Harbor Report and Marina in Charleston, S.C.
