New York – Apple will open its third Manhattan locale and its 204th location worldwide tomorrow evening.
The latest addition is located in the borough’s trendy Meatpacking District at West 14th St. and Ninth Ave. The store is Apple’s first three-story unit, and will be the largest of its three Manhattan locations, including the company’s flagship on Fifth Ave. and East 59th St.
“We are thrilled to open our third and largest store in Manhattan on West 14th Street,” said Ron Johnson, Apple’s retail senior VP. “We think New Yorkers will love this stunning new location and the incredibly talented team we’ve assembled to make the Apple Store West 14th Street a place where people can shop, learn and truly be inspired.”
The store dedicates two floors to products and the third to services including workshops, personal training and support. The latter are offered in specially designed areas including a 46-foot Genius Bar and a new Pro Labs space, where customers can receive free in-depth instruction on the company’s professional applications.
The store is staffed by over 175 employees, variously designated as “Specialists,” Geniuses” and “Creatives,” and will reportedly be open until midnight Monday through Saturday.
Apple says that more than 275 million people have visited its retail stores since they opened in 2001.
