San Jose, Calif. — Acer has chopped $50 off the price of its Aspire one mobile Internet device (MID) in the U.S. retail channel.
The Aspire one featuring Windows XP Home will now retail for $349 instead of its original $399. The Linpus Linux Lite version has also been reduced to $329 from $379.

The machine features an Intel Atom processor, 1GB of RAM, 120GB internal hard drive and a three-cell battery.
A version targeted at business and education customers is also available, The Aspire one AOA150-1447 features a six-cell battery, 160GB internal hard drive and Windows XP Home. It’s available now at a starting price of $399.
All models come with a one-year limited warranty.
