Samsung wants to put its own spin on large-panel OLED TV screens by eliminating color filters in favor of its own Quantum Dot technology.
“According to an article on the Korean-language tech-focused etnews website, anonymous industry sources have confirmed that Samsung is developing a new ‘QD-OLED’ TV display technology that allegedly marries the brightness and color benefits of Quantum Dot technology with the self-emissive lighting, ultra-thin designs, response speed and black level benefits of OLED technology.”
