
As gaming increasingly moves online, new category enhancements like VR and next-gen consoles could buy GameStop more time while it continues to build out its burgeoning cellular business. The company reports its fourth-quarter results this afternoon.
“The videogame business has gotten more complex in recent years, as has GameStop. In the fiscal year ended Jan. 30, GameStop actually reduced its overall retail videogame store count by 125 locations, but expanded by 553 stores its Technology Brands segment that sells mobile phones and other electronics.”
